Clark
Senior Director, Home Listings

Clark had a unique opportunity to preview our culture in his prior role as an outside IT consultant, managing the LendingTree account. He liked what he saw in the company, saying, "LendingTree attracted me because of the people I encountered, as well as the energy that the work environment generated."

When Clark started with LendingTree as the home listings implementation manager for its new real estate portal, RealEstate.com, he knew the company was growing, and that the people were energetic. He didn't realize how fast his own career would progress.

Clark feels that at LendingTree, there's no limit to his future. Clark says, "I have been fortunate enough to make great strides in my career in a fairly short amount of time and I plan on taking advantage of every opportunity LendingTree places in front of me."

Clark sees company growth as a major focus, and he thrives on the way his fellow employees rally around the LendingTree mission. "I work with a very energetic, enthusiastic group of people who really get excited about the challenges in front of them," says Clark. "By far, my favorite part of working at LendingTree is the people with whom I get to work."

Dan
Home Equity Sales Manager

In his role as Sales Manager for LendingTree, Dan draws upon his experience as a teacher and high school basketball coach. He holds degrees in marketing and education from the University of Wisconsin, and taught in Minneapolis, Minnesota before coming to California and entering the mortgage industry.

"I think that really helped me to be a good leader, motivator and manager," says Dan. "I can leverage my teaching and coaching background on a daily basis with my agents on the floor. I'm in charge of 15 agents, but I also have to be a team player with the other managers and the rest of the staff, too. That's what has driven some of my success in this industry."

Dan began his career at LendingTree as an equity sales agent, and soon after was promoted to a management position. He appreciates the fact that the company believes in him, and he, in turn, believes in the vision of the company.

"It's exciting to have somebody in charge who takes the initiative to make changes prior to the market changing," adds Dan. "I think that's part of the reason why we are where we are today. It's just exciting. Individually it's exciting because I know there's going to be more growth for me here. But from a company standpoint, too, there's no cap - no ceiling as far as what we're going to accomplish."

Don
Manager, Software Development

Nearly five years ago, an existing LendingTree employee phoned Don and told him he needed to jumpstart his career and make the move to North Carolina. Don made the jump because as he says, "LendingTree was an up-and-coming Internet company that seemed to stand out from the rest as far as potential and innovation."

Don has definitely found the potential he sought. "I feel the sky's the limit for me here. I have been promoted three times already and have every indication that the trend will continue."

While Don increases his responsibilities, he commends his fellow employees for having so much drive to help the company succeed. He says, "This is the most talented group of employees I have ever worked with."

In Don's mind, the strength of the LendingTree culture can be traced back to the care the company takes to hire the right people, and then to treat them well. "Although we are always very busy, LendingTree is always flexible with people's time and non-work needs." Don adds, "LendingTree is fast-paced, but great at promoting work-life flexibility."

Jennifer
Training Specialist

With only one year of mortgage experience, Jennifer came to work with LendingTree, where she became a top performing loan officer in less than a year. She's now a trainer in our Success University, where she says she feels at home. "I thought being a trainer would be a great opportunity for growth in the company and I am still able to do what I love most, which is helping people, teaching them about the mortgage industry and how to sell loans."

Helping people is a passion for Jennifer, and she's grateful to support her fellow employees at LendingTree. "I really enjoyed selling loans and helping my team members when I was in my loan team, but I have met so many more people in different divisions in my new job," she says. "I also like being a part of someone else's growth in the company."

Jennifer is happy to return the favors she's received from her team members and managers in her years at LendingTree. "Everybody's very upbeat and willing to help you out, no matter what the situation may be. I had a million questions when I started and everybody's willing to answer them and make sure you're doing well. It's been a great experience and it continues to be a great experience."

Jennifer sees so much opportunity in the future, and feels that there is something special at LendingTree. "Having worked for several companies in my career, we have something special at LendingTree. I think Anthony says it all in one of his nine steps to success, 'Love your job, or find a job you love.' I enjoy coming to work every day and working with the great people around me. I think it is important to come to work in a place I am proud of."

Kuno
Loan Officer

Kuno joined our company with six months of experience in the mortgage industry. After a year and a half, how does he like it here? "I absolutely love it," he says. "Management is great, the process is great, the environment is great, and they're always looking for ways to make it better - make the process tighter and close loans faster."

According to Kuno, the management at LendingTree keeps the environment agile. "They just know what they're doing. They structure it right - the flow from beginning to end, the call volumes, the constant keeping you happy - it just makes it easy all the way around."

Kuno is excited about the growth of the company, and sees the opportunity for upward mobility. He's seen so many promotions happen, and the company rewards people for strong performance. He says, "They want to fill this place up, and there's a lot of room. I'm staying here as long as they'll keep me, and I just want to keep moving up."

Michael
Manager of Mortgage Banking

Michael started his mortgage career with our company in 2003 as a loan officer. His first impression was that we move fast, and work hard to exceed the expectations of our customers. "There were lots of people on headsets," he says. "It was clearly a company with lots of energy and sales people who really relate to the customers."

Employee reinvestment plays a large part in team success. Michael says, "As long as you know your product, you will succeed." He notes that at LendingTree, loan officers receive training that teaches them how to match customers with the right loan from the wide variety of options the company has available.

A wide product selection allows us to help more customers, and this ability to serve our customers better than anyone else has helped us grow. Michael sees wide-open potential for financial rewards and career growth at LendingTree. "The potential is excellent," he says. "What you put in you'll get rewarded for. If you want to put in more hours, you have the possibility of making more money."

In such a competitive field, Michael appreciates the team-oriented environment at LendingTree. "It's unusually supportive. It's only competitive in the sense that I want to be number one on my team. But at the end of the day, it's how your team does. That's how we measure our success."

Stacy
Processing Manager

After working as a processor in various mortgage companies for five years, Stacy was referred to the company by people who had worked with (LendingTree Loans CEO) Anthony Hsieh at his previous company, LoansDirect (which later became E-trade Mortgage). "They were all pretty loyal to him," recalls Stacy. "They told me a lot of good things about him and the new company he was starting. Every job that they went to with him, they were happy. So that meant a lot to me."

Stacy found that the work environment at LendingTree was significantly different than the other companies she had worked for. "It's fast-paced, supportive, and I'm always learning," says Stacy. "Everybody seems to want to help - it's more like a teaching environment. It's not just numbers, numbers, numbers. It's a team effort."

She also appreciates the stable environment the company provides. Not all mortgage companies can adapt to changes in the market, but Stacy feels LendingTree has proven itself by building its own platform that is innovative and agile. "Anthony and Tomo (Yebisu) built a company based on having all the needs of our customers met," says Stacy. "We offer a lot of diversity in our loan programs, so we can help all people."

Now Stacy is the one referring her friends to LendingTree. She always says that you'll be rewarded here. "If you work hard, you'll make money, you'll learn, and you'll enjoy coming to work."

Tania
Business Planning Analyst

Tania began her career with LendingTree as an affinity consultant/customer service representative. "When I started, there were only about 30 consultants, now there are over 220," says Tania. "The only thing you're guaranteed here at LendingTree is change. Everything has grown by leaps and bounds."

In less than four years, Tania's career has already grown by leaps and bounds. After one year, she moved into a new position, training customer service reps. She also worked in quality control and team lead roles before being promoted to business planning analyst. Tania sees the company's growth continuing well into the future.

"I think we're just at the beginning," she says. "There's so much growth opportunity in what we're doing right now. We're just getting bigger and better every day. We're working on ways to improve what we have, we're working on ways to get the most out of what we have, and keep bringing more in... There's a lot of potential out there."

As Tania points out, many of the people who are currently on the customer care management team at LendingTree also started out as consultants. "That's what makes the job exciting," Tania adds. "If you work hard and excel at what you do, you will get noticed and you can move up. As long as you work hard and show the initiative, it's out there for you."
